Visit.org is looking for a passionate and ambitious Head of People to join our remote team. The Head of People will evaluate and recommend legally compliant HR policies, procedures, and best practices, and identify and implement long-range strategic talent management goals.  The right candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, extreme passion for our mission, and the energy and discipline to come in and be a builder in a start-up tech environment.

About You:

You're someone who already brings well-rounded People/Talent experience from fast-growth startup settings, who wants to grow their career into a larger more complex People/Talent remit at a fast-growing organization. You’ll have the support of a small but mighty existing People/Talent team - and the ability to scale that team in short order. You’ll waste no time defining & executing our recruiting strategy: sourcing great candidates and hiring talented people across all of our teams. In parallel, you'll also build out V.1 of the employee life cycle processes to support scaling our diverse, inclusive, mission-centric, collaborative, and winning culture.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CEO, COO, and other team members to curate a scale-ready mission-centric, collaborative, and winning culture

  • Hire, manage, and train an internal Human Resources team. 

  • Update our HR and People Ops to be seamless, automated, and scalable

  • Set our employee engagement strategy, and implement size and culture-appropriate performance management processes.

  • Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.

  • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.

  • Build out the People/Talent Function Product Roadmap at Visit.org, cultivating close relationships with the leadership team to guide priorities based on the most pressing needs 

 

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of well-rounded people/talent experience, including prior experience at a small fast-growing startup

  • Experience working effectively with both technical as well as non-technical populations - supporting/optimizing both the candidate and employee lifecycles

  • A proven record of successfully gaining executive alignment around People / Talent program priorities - and driving their implementation/success

  • Strong working knowledge of benefits, compensation, & people analytics

  • Past experience that demonstrates the ability to manage vendors to support the organizational needs in HR fields where we won’t have full-time resources for a while, e.g. Learning & Development

  • A self-starter that enjoys working independently and collaborating

  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritize projects in a fast-paced company that is going through substantial growth.

  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
